Manchester United lost 2-1 to West Ham United in the Premier League, but it’s going to be a VAR decision that steals all the headlines.
Deep into the fixture, Matthijs de Ligt seemingly fouled Danny Ings in the box, and a penalty was awarded that eventually won the Hammers the game.
The Premier League made an immediate comment on the penalty decision, and it’s going to cause a stir for Manchester United in days to come.
The Manchester United manager was also not happy.

Erik ten Hag on West Ham penalty vs Manchester United
Erik ten Hag was understandably not happy to see the decision go against his side.
“Three times this season we feel injustice. Unfair and unjust the way we conceded the penalty,” Ten Hag begins.
“I spoke with the officials but decision is made. There’s no way back. It has a big impact on our team and on our scores and where we are in the table”, tells BBC.
Alan Shearer slams West Ham penalty vs Manchester United
Shearer, usually not a fan of Manchester United, was also not happy with Michael Oliver or the refereeing team. Speaking post-match, he was insistent it was dead wrong.
“Awful decision,” Shearer began. “That’s a terrible decision whether you like Man Utd or not, and I don’t understand why Michael Oliver got involved.”
The media outrage didn’t stop there, numerous United journalists also hit out, with Andy Mitten making his thoughts known.
