Manchester United’s final home game of the season comes against Nottingham Forest today, and Michael Carrick has named his starting line-up.

The penultimate weekend of the Premier League season has arrived, with Manchester United welcoming Nottingham Forest to Old Trafford.

It comes one week after United drew 0-0 in Sunderland, and with third place effectively secure already, Michael Carrick will be hoping to sign off for the home season with a win.

Here is how United will line up.

Manchester United’s XI to face Nottingham Forest

It will be a strong side to conclude the home campaign against Forest on Sunday, starting with Senne Lammens in goal as he looks to sign off in style.

The defence sees Diogo Dalot return at right-back, with Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire continuing at centre-back, along with Luke Shaw on the left.

In midfield, Casemiro returns to action alongside Kobbie Mainoo after the disaster of Mason Mount’s start against Sunderland.

Bruno Fernandes starts as he looks to conclude his search for the Premier League assist record today.

In attack, no Benjamin Sesko means it is a front three of Amad, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

United plan Casemiro farewell

Casemiro will bid an emotional farewell to Old Trafford after the game against Forest, and United have planned an elaborate send-off.

Before kick-off, a banner dedicated to Casemiro will float across the Stretford End, paying tribute to the Brazilian.

Additionally, United have reportedly pulled together an emotive farewell for Casemiro to happen after the game, along with Carrick’s speech to fans.

In his programme notes, Carrick has urged fans to give Casemiro the send-off he deserves.

“This will be Casemiro’s final game at Old Trafford, so today is a chance to recognise a player who will always have a special connection with United.”

Ahead of the game, Casemiro has posted on his Instagram story with a picture of him with the South American players and Diogo Dalot, captioned “The last game at Old Trafford”, with two heart emojis.

New shirt day for United

Unlike previous years, next season’s home kit has already been released, and this Sunday will see it debut in front of the home support.

United will don the classy collared home shirt against Forest, and will hope that it brings immediate success ahead of the release of three other kits set to be dropped over the summer.

This will drive sales, as the shirt looks a lot nicer in action and in person than it does on the club website.

Could Carrick be announced as head coach?

It could be a huge day for United, not only wishing Casemiro all the best, but also crowning Carrick as the official permanent head coach.

This past week has seen an agreement reached to continue the work he has started in the last five months.

There was a suggestion that United could announce Carrick at Old Trafford, so watch out for this.
