Manchester United emerged victorious in pre-season against Rangers, granting Erik ten Hag his first win of the 24/25 campaign.
Goals from Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill were enough to see off the Gers at the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.
The Manchester United manager has to be delighted with the performance of his Red Devils side. They ran out comfortable winners, despite numerous first-team squad members absent.
This included Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes, who singled out one player for his efforts in Scotland.

Bruno Fernandes on Amad Diallo
Amad Diallo was undeniably the star performer for Manchester United on Saturday afternoon. The Ivorian was dangerous throughout the entirety of the 45 minutes he featured, and was rewarded with a goal for his efforts.
Erik ten Hag had praise for Diallo, and rightly so. He really stepped up against his former club, and was the creative spark needed in the first half to carve out a goal against the Gers.
Although Fernandes did not feature or travel to Scotland, the Portuguese Magnifico was presumably watching on from home and was mightily impressed by Diallo’s performance.
He singled him out on his Instagram story, sending the 22-year-old the message ‘Bravo piccolo,’ which translates to ‘Well done little one’.

Amad Diallo sends message to Man Utd and Rangers fans
It was a special moment for the Ivorian, having scored against his former side, with Amad spending time at Ibrox on loan.
The Red Devils winger still has the utmost respect for the Scottish side but was delighted with his pre-season strike. He took to Twitter to share the following message:
‘A real pleasure to have played against Rangers, I had a good time there, I wish them the best for the coming season. Thanks to the United fans for the support.’
It has to be Amad’s season at Old Trafford
As Ten Hag stated – it has to be Amad’s year at Old Trafford. Since his arrival in 2021, the winger has been on the verge of greatness numerous times – but now his quality is really shining through.
This looks like the make-or-break season for Amad. He’s evidently won over supporters, and now seemingly the Manchester United manager.
Now, all that’s left to do is the talking on the pitch. Over to you Amad – roll on the 24/25 season.
