Ronaldo reacts to United's 1-0 win over Norwich

Cristiano Ronaldo was Manchester United’s matchwinner in the 1-0 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The Portuguese superstar won and converted the penalty which got all three points in Ralf Rangnick’s first away game in charge.

That makes it two clean sheets and two 1-0 wins from Rangnick’s two league matches in charge but this performance was far below the level of the Crystal Palace one.

After the game, Ronaldo took to Instagram to react to the win which took United up to fifth in the table.

It was not Ronaldo’s best night – and the same could be said of all of United’s attacking players – but he still stepped up when it mattered.

United have won nine Premier League games this season and Ronaldo has scored in eight of them.

He and David de Gea keep on stepping up when United need them most and that made the difference in both boxes at Carrow Road.

Next up for United is a trip to Brentford and they will need to improve across the pitch to get another victory against Thomas Frank’s overachieving newly-promoted side.

But while United have Ronaldo in the team, they always have a chance to win and that is exactly what they did on a day when they were not at their best.

Ronaldo had three shots in the game, two of which were on target, as per WhoScored, but five unsuccessful touches sums up how it did not quite come off for him all the time.

This was a case of job done in tricky conditions against a spirited opponent and Ronaldo is right to imply that United need to improve going forward.
