We couldn’t blame Cristiano Ronaldo for being absolutely fed up right now. Manchester United fans feel the same way after all.
Losing 5-0 to Liverpool is a sickener and Ronaldo accepts his share of responsibility, along with the rest of the team.
Sending out a message on Instagram, Ronaldo says the team must step up.
Miserable day for Ronaldo
Ronaldo was booked in the first half for a wild kick out and could quite easily have seen red, such was the aggression in his challenge.
His misery was compounded in the second half when he scored a well taken consolation goal, which was ruled out for a narrow offside.
It underlined that nothing was going to go Manchester United’s way.
Ronaldo has now featured in consecutive league losses for United and while his words are nice to see, we just want to witness a proper reaction at this point.
United have a long week ahead before the game at Tottenham, before games against Atalanta and then Manchester City.

Joint heaviest loss
This was the joint biggest defeat of Cristiano Ronaldo’s career.
It matched Real Madrid’s 5-0 loss to Barcelona in 2010.
Ronaldo bounced back from that defeat better and stronger, but at 36, it is hard for him to go up a level like he did 11 years ago.
Of course Ronaldo will try, and never write him off. But his United career is not going as planned so far. He has failed to score in his last four Red Devils league games, three of which have been starts.
