Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 15th goal of the season to lead Manchester United to a 2-0 win over Brighton.
Ronaldo’s goal came early in the second half and it was a thumping strike which left the goalkeeper with no chance.

Brighton had a man sent off shortly after but fought back and nearly equalised, before Bruno Fernandes added a second goal in the seventh minute of injury time.
Ronaldo was clearly delighted and relieved to score his first goal of 2022. He sent a message out on social media implying he does not listen to criticism.
United’s win came as a huge relief after a run of disappointing results. The win moves the team up into fourth place, for now, with other sides having games in hand.
Getting Ronaldo back scoring is so important, with this his first goal this calendar year after a much discussed goal drought.
He quite easily could have had two more, but one was good enough this evening.
United fans can rest assured Ronaldo will give his all between now and the end of the season, and this was the ideal way to warm up for next week’s Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid.
