Sonny Aljofree and another Man Utd academy star announce exit, Shea Lacey reacts

It is the time of the season when some Manchester United players’ contracts will be coming to an end, with Sonny Aljofree now announcing his exit.

Every year, Manchester United releases players, but this season’s retained list hasn’t even been announced yet, and already, multiple exits are confirmed.

Casemiro has already played his final United game, while in addition, United have confirmed Tyrell Malacia will leave.

Now, Sonny Aljofree has joined the growing list of players set to be released.

Sonny Aljofree announces exit from Manchester United

21-year-old centre-back Aljofree has come through the academy, representing United’s U21 side as captain this season.

Aljofree enjoyed a couple of solid loan moves, but he has now confirmed that he is leaving this summer.

After getting the news, Aljofree took to his Instagram with a message.

“After 14 years at this amazing football club, my second home, and the place I’ve grown from a boy to a man. I can’t thank the staff, players, and everybody who has helped me enough for everything they have helped me with throughout my time. I’ve made brothers for life, and I will always appreciate what this club have given me. I wish everybody at the club the absolute best.

“Ready to kick on and keep growing as a person and as a player.

“Once a red, always a red”.

In the responses, Kobbie Mainoo led the crowd, writing, “All the best bro”.

While Shea Lacey added, “All the best my brother.”

Tyler Fletcher commented, “Good luck bro.” While Jack Fletcher said, “Good luck my bro.”

Dan Gore then said, “My Boy, go smash the next chapter now”.

Aljofree will have no trouble at all finding an EFL side that wants to sign him.

Malachi Sharpe also announces United exit

After five years for the club, Malachi Sharpe has also been released by United.

He posted a message on Instagram, revealing this.

“After 5 years my time @manutd has come to an end!

“I want to say thank you to God, the coaches, players, staff, and the fans for my incredible time with this amazing club.

“Though my time had been difficult with injuries, I vow to do my best on the next part of my journey. Once a red, always a red.”

Sharpe also got plenty of support in the comments, with Lacey writing, “My brother”.

Chido Obi also commented, “Good luck family”.

While Tyler Fletcher wrote, “Gonna miss you bro.”

With several other messages along these same lines.
