Manchester United have confirmed Tyrell Malacia will depart the club at the end of the season.
Tyrell Malacia will leave Manchester United when his contract expires on June 30.
United had an option to extend Malacia’s deal by a further 12 months, and have chosen not to extend it.
Most Manchester United supporters expected this to be the case.
United confirmed the news after Michael Carrick said a public farewell to the Dutchman during his end of season speech at Old Trafford.

Malacia spell wrecked by injury
Michael Carrick alluded to it in his speech, Tyrell Malacia’s Manchester United career was wrecked by injury.
Amid the public fanfare for Casemiro after the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, Carrick made sure to give Malacia his moment.
“We have Tyrell as well, who I mentioned to the boys before kick-off. He’s had a tough time with injuries since he’s been here, but please show some appreciation for Tyrell.”
Malacia has been a frequent unused substitute for United this season, playing twice, both coincidentally against Newcastle.
Back in June 2022, Malacia was the first signing of the Erik ten Hag era, joining from Feyenoord for £12 million.
He had a promising debut season, shining in a 2-1 home win over Manchester City at Old Trafford.
Malacia suffered an injury late in the campaign and then missed the entire 2023/24 season too.
He returned to action in December 2024, by which time Ruben Amorim was in charge. He spent the second half of 2024/25 on loan at PSV Eindhoven.
There were no takers for Malacia on United’s terms last summer or in January, and he will now leave the club as a free agent.
It is possible he could get a farewell appearance for a few minutes against Brighton on the final game of the season, but it would be the sensible move not to risk injury.
