Victor Musa the star
At the start of 2023 we picked out 16-year-old forward Victor Musa as a player to watch.
He made his debut at the end of 2022 for the under-18s, featuring in the FA Youth Cup win over Palace.
Yet to score at that point, Musa had been a regular goalscorer for United’s under-16s, and he is now finding his feet at under-23 level.
Musa struck two goals in the 3-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend, with 17-year-old James Nolan opening the scoring.
It was the third game in a row Musa had scored, he now has four goals in three matches, following strikes against Derby and Wolves.
Musa is a player with instinctive goalscoring traits who is always keen to shoot. His confidence is growing after stepping up as part of a very youthful under-18s side, where most of the players are 16, and frequently younger.
He is eligible to play international football for both Spain and England, and has represented both at youth level already.
Two debuts
The game saw a first start for right-back Jaydon Kamason, 16, who made his debut in December.
There were two debuts for young striker Sekou Kaba, 15, who came off the bench in the second half. He was part of a triple swoop United made on Derby County two years ago.
United also brought on defender Daniel Armer for his under-18s debut late in the game. Both players will be considered for further opportunities between now and the end of the season.
