Manchester United talent Jack Moorhouse is turning heads and seemingly attracting EFL interest well in advance of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United’s long and storied history with academy players means any young prospect at Old Trafford will be backing themselves for first-team chances.
The journey from United academy to first-team star is tricky, with talents such as Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo even encountering difficulties.
Harry Amass became United’s 253rd academy graduate in March as the left back made his Premier League debut as a substitute against Leicester City.
Jaydan Kamason is expected to follow in the United first team setup soon enough, whilst some around Carrington believe James Scanlon should be in United contention.
Ruben Amorim regularly promoted young talent at Sporting, and one United prospect may be catching his eye.

Manchester United’s Jack Moorhouse already attracting EFL interest
Reports going back to December suggested that Jack Moorhouse had been catching the eye around United.
The 19-year-old midfielder has bounced back from a number of injury problems to really impress this season
Moorhouse has shown exceptional ball-carrying ability in midfield and has now bagged three goals and one assist in 10 Premier League 2 games.
The Daily Mail now claim that Moorhouse has already been the subject of enquiries from League One and League Two clubs.
EFL teams are already interested in signing Moorhouse on loan for next season and are making moves in advance of the summer window.
United may well weigh up those moves this summer, but it’s suggested that Moorhouse could make a first-team debut before the end of the season.
Moorhouse is becoming difficult to ignore in the United ranks and with Amorim having little to play for in the Premier League, a senior debut may be on the horizon.

United must pick Jack Moorhouse loan carefully
We mentioned Rashford and Mainoo earlier, and both share a quirk in that they were never loaned out by United.
The England duo went straight from the youth ranks to the first team, but many other talents have to go out on loan.
United must be careful with Moorhouse’s loan move, though, and picking the right home won’t be easy.
United could take the approach of sending Moorhouse to League Two, League One and then the Championship, gradually building him up.
Playing for a top-end League One side may give Moorhouse a great test early on, though, and a platform to showcase that ball-carrying class.
A strong pre-season may yet land Moorhouse in the first-team plans for next season, just like Mainoo in 2023.
Amorim will be watching carefully, with Moorhouse emerging as a real talent to watch for the rest of 2025 and beyond.
