Manchester United youngster Manni Norkett is currently on trial with Leicester City.
Leicester Live reported Manni Norkett lined up as a trialist for Leicester in their under-21s game with West Ham, a 2-0 defeat. He played 45 minutes.
Norkett is currently Manchester United’s top goalscorer at under-18s level this season with 11 goals in all competitions, ahead of breakout prospect Ethan Williams.
This has been Norkett’s second season with the under-18s, he scored 12 goals last season, and could have had more, had he not been bumped back down the pecking order with Charlie McNeill and Joe Hugill flitting between under-21 and under-18 levels.
Norkett, 18, scored in Manchester United’s FA Youth Cup third round win over Crystal Palace in December, and featured as a substitute in the team’s victory last season.
He did make his under-21 debut last season but has only had brief opportunities this year, as a substitute. He had captained the under-18s earlier this season.
Most of his goals this season came in the first half of the campaign. His recent goal in the under-18s win over Leeds a fortnight ago was his first since January.
Norkett had a brief loan at non-league Gainsborough Trinity at the end of 2021 to pick up experience.

Is Manni Norkett leaving
The fact Manni Norkett is on trial at Leicester City shows he is exploring an opportunity to leave the club.
It is unclear if this is because he wants to leave, or because Manchester United have let him know his contract won’t be extended.
At 18, he is at an age where he needs to plot his path through under-21 level and beyond and it is sensible to consider all options.
At Leicester he played alongside Chris Popov, who was at United at under-16s level before being released and joining the Foxes.
