Manchester United’s U16 side are involved in the 2025 Super Cup NI this week and Tuesday night sees the marquee group stage clash.
Every year going back to the 1980’s, Manchester United have been sending squads of young players over to Northern Ireland in the summer for the ‘Milk Cup’ which is now known as the Super Cup.
This summer is no different, with United winning 3-0 on opening day against West Cork, courtesy of a brilliant performance by Kai Rooney, eldest son of club legend, Wayne Rooney.
For the 2025 edition of the historic competition, United have taken a strong U16 squad, ranging from U14 players to U16.
On Tuesday night, on matchday two, United picked up another win, beating Rangers 2-0 thanks to a Douka Nkoto brace.

Formerly known as the Milk Cup, the NI Super Cup is a youth tournament hosted in Northern Ireland which is historic. United have been sending teams over since the 1980’s and often do quite well.
