Manchester United are set to sign teenage sensation Blake Henry, making him the latest wonderkid arrival under Ineos.

Since the Ineos takeover, it has become a priority at Manchester United to sign several young prospects into the club’s academy system.

According to the Derby Telegraph, United have won the race to sign 14-year-old Henry ahead of Premier League rivals Manchester City.

Henry is set to join United from Derby County’s academy, and his record at youth level will make him one of United’s most promising prospects.

Who is Blake Henry? Man United’s new wonderkid

Born in 2011, Henry only turned 14 in November, but he has already made appearances in the U18s Premier League.

Henry is a prolific striker in Derby County’s youth ranks, scoring a staggering 45 goals at youth level in the 2025/26 season.

He is a young centre-forward who has already represented England at Under-15s level.

Henry became the second young player to be offered a scholarship at 13 years old in Derby’s history, and he has already been picked up with an Adidas sponsorship.

Like other young talents who have been poached by United, Ineos’s plan for Henry will be for him to continue his development at Carrington and work his way into the Under-18s and Under-21s squads.

Man Utd to agree compensation for Blake Henry

As per the academy regulations in England, Derby County are entitled to a “significant” compensation package if the youngster heads to United.

The exact amount has not been reported, but it will be determined by several factors, including age, time at the academy, category of the club signing him, and development and training costs.

United will have to strike a compensation agreement with Derby, or the case will be determined by a Professional Football Compensation Committee tribunal.
