Manchester United have added another promising prospect to the academy.
Teenager Jaedon Donkor announced via Instagram he has signed a deal with Manchester United after a successful trial.
Donkor wrote: “Happy to announce my signing for @manchesterunited ✍🏾 Thank you God for giving me this opportunity to sign for such a big club, proud moment for me and my family. All glory to God🙌🏾”
He shared images posing with a Manchester United number 11 shirt, and there were responses welcoming him from current United prospects Majid Balogun and Louie Bradbury.
Jaedon Donkor was at Arsenal
Jaedon Donkor signed with Arsenal’s academy in 2020 after being scouted from East London club Levels FC.
He has now signed for Manchester United, another major step in his career. He spent time on trial with the club earlier in the summer and clearly impressed.
His former youth coach Terry Bobie wrote on Instagram: “Words can’t describe our joy to one of our very own signing for one of the Biggest Clubs in the world!”

Manchester United youth recruitment continues
Manchester United can no longer go and sign young players from around Europe like they did with Hannibal Mejbri and Alejandro Garnacho. Brexit rules mean only UK players under 18 can sign.
This has accelerated a youth push to sign homegrown players. Earlier this year Wales youth international Gabriele Biancheri signed from Swansea City.
Louie Bradbury was another addition to academy earlier in 2023, while Harry Amass, Tyler Fletcher and Jack Fletcher have all gone into the under-18s.
Manchester United’s academy is regarded as one of the world’s best, thanks to the club’s proud tradition of giving chances to homegrown players.
The hard work is only just beginning for all of these, and the standards at United are high. But the rewards are unlike any other club.
