Manchester United’s pursuit of the best young players is showing no sign of slowing down at all, it’s relentless.

The team with the best under-18s in England last season have been adding to the club’s rich academy prospects.

Mali wonderkid Sekou Kone is the latest to join, he will be added to six young players who have made the switch this summer already.

Now another young talent could be incoming, with a talented prospect spotted at Carrington.

Caleb Sweeney, 15, is a midfielder who plays for Northern Irish side Larne. He is a youth international for his country.

He was pictured at Carrington where he is on trial, attempting to impress the academy coaching staff and potentially earn a deal.

Sweeney’s ability was recently highlight by The Secret Scout, who wrote, “Northern Ireland have a very good holding midfielder coming through.

“15-year-old Caleb Sweeney (Larne FC) both footed. One of the best I’ve seen at his age this year.”

Deals for Lusale and Obi-Martin are awaiting FA ratification, while Kone is due to undergo his medical. That move will be subject to international clearance.

A move for Caleb Sweeney will be relatively simpler as he already has a British passport – but first he has to convince the academy decision-makers that he is deserving of earning a deal.
