Manchester United’s under-18 side is set for the return of arguably the group’s most exciting prospect this weekend for the Manchester Derby.
This campaign for the Manchester United U18 side has been remarkable, unbeaten and sitting well placed for a double silverware haul.
The pride of the academy has done all of this without arguably the most exciting name on the roster, Shea Lacey, who recently impressed off the pitch with a classy gesture for a young fan.
Lacey has been missing since late October after he sustained a rectus femoris tear which has kept him out since, with United cautious to rush him back into action.
But now there has been an update with the wonderkid having been on the grass at Carrington for a while now and he looks set to return.

Shea Lacey is set for his return to U18 set-up at Manchester United
It is according to Academy Scoop on X, that 16-year-old star Lacey is set for his return to action this coming weekend for the U18 Manchester derby which could effectively move United 16 points clear with just seven games remaining.
The account claims that Lacey will make his return for the game, with it being unclear whether he will start or not as of right now.
Lacey has been working steadily toward his return since January when he recommenced light training on the grass.
It is worth noting this account has built a reputation for being reliable on academy news, with Lacey even following and the account has previously posted conversations the two have had.
Lacey’s return will come at the perfect time
Lacey couldn’t have asked to return at a better time than this, with a derby game to get himself back amongst it quickly.
He also arrives back in time for the season run-in and U18 PL Cup final which is also against City later this season.
But mainly, Lacey will be hoping to show his immense ability right off the bat upon returning as it could see him considered for a move towards the U21s next season before being possibly in line for some first-team training and maybe even minutes in the next 18 months.
We are all likely feeling exactly the same about this return and cannot wait to see him back in action for United.
