Man Utd wonderkid Shea Lacey has just shown what a class act he is

One of the most exciting prospects within Manchester United’s academy right now is Shea Lacey and he’s just showcased what a class act he is.

Manchester United have an academy set up which right now is thriving across multiple levels. For a start, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho have established themselves as key figures in Erik ten Hag‘s side.

The duo have been influential over the past few months becoming almost undroppable for the Dutch boss. Below this, the U18 side is currently on fire, destroying every team in their path right now as they have a 100% record in the U18 PL.

Among the top performers from this side is Ethan Williams who’s been thriving this season as he nears 20 goal contributions and Harry Amass who’s impressed at left-back and is currently training with the senior side.

The talent doesn’t stop there though with multiple other exciting players including Shea Lacey who could possibly be the best of the lot. Now, the 16-year-old has shown what a brilliant person he is off the field.

Shea Lacey displays his personality with classy gesture to young fan

A video was shared around X – including by Lacey’s brother Paddy – on Wednesday of the wonderkid Lacey interacting with a young fan at Carrington.

The winger – who is young himself – showed what a class act he is as he fetched the fan a pair of boots in exchange for a pair of custom shin pads the fan had brought him.

This gesture showcased what a class act he is and that he shares the humility gene with the best Carrington graduates of recent years.

Showcasing this kind of attitude with the fanbase already at 16 is a sign of real maturity – something he’s shown on the pitch and now off it. This should bode well for his chance at knocking on the first team door over the next couple of years.

Shea Lacey has a massive future at Manchester United

Lacey is a talent who fans have been excited by for years and expectations are high as he’s tipped as one to follow in Mainoo’s footsteps. He’s already a fan favourite thanks to the countless clips of him running rings around opponents.

This season his performances have been limited but as a 16-year-old in the U18 PL, his stats have been incredible. Five games, two goals and three assists to his name which is a really impressive tally. He also has an assist in his three UEFA Youth League performances according to Transfermarkt.

The winger has drawn comparisons club legend to Wayne Rooney for his talent at a young age, but also due to the fact he’s from Liverpool.

With an injury preventing him from playing lately, he will be hoping to bounce back and impress in the U18s this campaign ahead of his 17th birthday in April. Lacey’s already a five-time England U17 international, in which he’s bagged three goals.
