The Manchester United U18 side has continued in fine form as they smashed through Crystal Palace to reach the U18 Premier League Cup final.

Manchester United have a fine group of players currently at under-18 level and they’ve been unbeatable this entire campaign to date.

Unbeaten in the league with 15 wins and two draws, they are the pride of the academy right now and look nailed on to lift the U18 Premier League North trophy.

But this isn’t the only silverware on the cards this season, with the U18s now into the final of the U18 PL Cup.

Here is what happened on Saturday morning at Carrington

Manchester United U18s march onto PL Cup final

On Saturday morning, stretching into early afternoon, the Manchester United U18s took another impressive step in their red-hot season with a 5-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace.

The scoring was opened by captain Finley McAllister who beat the keeper from close range in the 44th minute.

The lead was then doubled by Harry Amass by way of a deflection off the Palace defender in the 58th minute.

Ethan Wheatley put it beyond doubt in the 76th minute with a proper strikers goal which was followed eight minutes later by Gabriele Biancheri who rounded off a week in which he trained with the first-team with a real number nines goal of his own to make it 4-0.

The rout was completed in the 91st minute through Wheatley again as he finished well into the corner to wrap the game up for United.

The U18 side is a special group, potentially a golden-generation

The dominance of this side cannot be understated even though it is only at the U18 level, being so much better than their peers can only be a positive.

This will leave United fans excited to see how many of the individuals will make the jump to the senior side over the next few years.

Quite remarkably, for as good as this team is and packed with exciting wonderkids, the best of the bunch – arguably – is yet to return from injury.

Shea Lacey has been injured for months and will be gutted he’s missed such an incredible campaign for the U18s.
