Manchester United legend and ITV pundit Roy Keane has admitted that France could face a test against two other nations at the World Cup this summer.
France are considered one of the favourites to lift the World Cup trophy after falling short of the major honour to Argentina in the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
The 2018 World Cup champions are in Group I and France will kick off their campaign against Senegal at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey next Tuesday.
The 2026 World Cup, which is being hosted in the United States, Mexico and Canada, will be the final major tournament of France manager Didier Deschamps.

Didier Deschamps will step down as France head coach after the 2026 World Cup, having previously led Les Bleus to the FIFA trophy in Russia in 2018.
The latest edition of the World Cup tournament kicked off on Thursday after co-hosts Mexico comfortably defeated South Africa 2-0 at the Mexico City Stadium.
Speaking in the ‘Micah & Roy’s Road To America’ series on YouTube, Roy Keane has revealed that both Brazil and Spain are among his favourites at the World Cup.
However, the 54-year-old Manchester United legend insisted that Brazil and Spain would face a tough test from France after Deschamps’ work with the national team.
“Over the last few days, I’ve been open-minded to Brazil and Spain,” he told Micah Richards, as per the Metro.
“But I think France have come into my head [as the potential winners].
“Obviously, the manager has got to get them all on the same page and I think he’s pretty good at it. I think he’s one of the best at it.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is playing at his sixth World Cup tournament with Portugal, but Keane cannot see his former Manchester United teammate lifting the trophy this summer.
“I’m going to rule out Portugal,” Keane explained.
“I just think at the back… yeah, I am [going to rule them out].”
Portugal are in Group A at the World Cup and Roberto Martinez’s men will begin their campaign in North America against DR Congo on 17th June in Houston.
