Christian Eriksen is looking for a new club after being let go by Manchester United this summer.

Manchester United have announced six departures from the first-team this summer.

Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof all left at the end of their contracts when the 2024/25 season ended.

While Evans has hung up his boots from playing, Eriksen and Lindelof remain on the lookout for new clubs, with their futures up in the air ahead of the new season.

Eriksen, 33, is expected to find a new club at a decent level but where that will be remains to be seen.

The Denmark international joined United on a free transfer in 2022, and he went on to make a total of 107 appearances for the club.

Although Eriksen arrived at Old Trafford with his peak years behind him, the Dane went on to win the FA Cup and Carabao Cup under Erik ten Hag during his three-year spell.

It is now a matter of Eriksen waiting to see what offers he is made before deciding on his future. Many teams could go with his experience and technical ability.

Wrexham want to sign Christian Eriksen

Since Eriksen is a free agent, there has not been a lot of speculation over his future this summer.

The experienced midfielder seemingly took time off to relax and will now assess his options ahead of the new season.

According to Sky Sports, Wrexham have approached Eriksen to sign as a free agent.

The recently promoted Championship side have already held talks with the Dane since he left United earlier this summer.

However, it is understood Eriksen would prefer a move to a top-flight club over a team playing in the second tier of English football, though he has been impressed by the pitch and ambition made by Wrexham.

That alone suggests a move is a possibility for Eriksen, who could be playing his football in the Championship next season.

The Welsh club, co-owned by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, are back in the second tier for the first time since 1982 this season.

Wrexham have already made six permanent signings ahead of the new campaign and now want to add Eriksen to their squad.

Eriksen would shine in the Championship

Wrexham will experience second tier football next season, which means a higher standard than before.

It would help them if they could secure players with experience at the highest level possible, and it doesn’t get higher than Eriksen, who has played in the top leagues and as a star on the international stage for Denmark.

Eriksen made 23 Premier League appearances last season for United, scoring one goal and recording two assists.

He would expect to have a more key role at Wrexham than he had at United under Amorim, but a lot will depend on his fitness and whether he is still able to play games each week.
