Winger linked to Manchester United admits chance of summer move ‘very high’

Antonio Nusa admits the chances of a summer departure from Club Brugge are ‘very high’ with Manchester United potentially in the market for Jadon Sancho replacements.

While both Manchester United and INEOS appear to be in agreement regarding the absence of an option-to-buy clause in Jadon Sancho’s Borussia Dortmund contract – a decision over a permanent sale will be made in the summer rather than the winter – it would be a bold man indeed who suggests that the £73 million misfit will pull on that iconic red shirt again.

Unless something rather dramatic happens – like Erik ten Hag losing his job or Sancho publicly apologising for a saga which has rumbled on for far too long – the England international is highly likely to have played his final game in United colours.

And his replacement could come in the shape of teenager Antonio Nusa.

Manchester United like Club Brugge’s Antonio Nusa

According to Belgian reporter Pieter-Jan Calcoen, the Red Devils are one of a number of clubs who have scouted Club Brugge’s £30 million-rated Norwegian whizzkid.

And, when asked about his future, Nusa sounded like a man expecting to embrace a greater challenge in a bigger league sooner rather than later.

“The chance (of a summer exit) is very high,” Nusa tells Het Laaste Nieuws. “But, if I can be honest, I don’t want to think about it too much.”

By his own admission, 18-year-old Nusa is far from the finished article. Despite comparisons with Neymar, and some glowing praise from compatriot Martin Odegaard, Nusa accepts that he still has a lot to work on at both ends of the pitch.

Jadon Sancho out, Nusa in?

“I want to get better. I still have some things to work on. The defensive work is part of it, I realise that all too well, but it is not my favourite facet of the game. But it’s part of my job and, since I want to do it as best as possible…” says Nusa, who has scored only three goals in 25 games this season.

“My finishing could also be better. I am lucky to play with a killer like Erling Haaland in Norway. He is perhaps the best striker. It’s not that I ask him for tips, but I do look at him.

“I watch a lot of matches on television (but) I don’t have a favourite competition. I follow the Premier League but also German, Italian and Spanish football.”

Nusa has made most of his appearances this season on the left wing but can also play on the right. His agent, Atta Aneke, helped bring Odion Ighalo to Manchester United four years ago.
