What Man Utd ‘have told Victor Osimhen’, claims insider who has spoken to prolific striker

The pursuit of a striker this summer has taken Manchester United across the globe, with countless options being linked to the club.

Ruben Amorim has watched from the sidelines since November as Rasmus Hojlund struggled in front of goal, proving detrimental to the form of Manchester United.

Due to this, Ineos have identified a new striker as one of the big priorities this summer for United, with a handful of different options being linked with the club already.

One exciting option is Liam Delap, who has impressed despite playing for relegation-threatened Ipswich Town. Most recently, Delap will have wowed United with his performance against Bournemouth.

United have been having internal talks over signing Delap, and he looks like a real possibility for the club to bolster the striker position this summer.

However, it has now emerged that the club have also been discussing interest in another top target.

Manchester United have told Victor Osimhen they will move to sign him this summer

United have a substantial list of options to potentially reinforce the position this summer, with some being experienced and others young talents. One of the leading targets for United is Victor Osimhen.

However, for the Red Devils, no striker brings more of a guarantee of goals than Osimhen, who ranks as one of the very best forwards in football and this season has scored 28 goals for Galatasaray on loan from Napoli.

Now, Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba, who is followed by and knows Osimhen personally, has provided an update on the striker.

He wrote that Napoli has not yet received any offers, however, United have made it clear to Osimhen that he is the top striker option this summer, along with a Spanish club doing the same.

He adds that United and said La Liga side have been pushing for months, while Liverpool, Arsenal and PSG have all enquired over Osimhen’s availability.

This is no shock, given Viktor Gyokeres looks out of reach this summer for United, and so Osimhen is the only real guaranteed top-level striker amid other options being project strikers.

Despite a slow start, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has given his full backing to Amorim, but he needs to prove it this summer with reinforcements for the United squad.

Signing Osimhen to replace Hojlund would be about as big an upgrade as possible for a United side which has scored the sixth fewest goals in the Premier League this season.

Osimhen has scored goals everywhere in his career apart from Wolfsburg almost a decade ago, and there is no reason he wouldn’t score for United.

United scouts have been impressed with his physicality, as he has proven he can battle with tough defenders, and he can also create his own chances which could set him apart immediately from United’s struggles with Hojlund.

Osimhen has elite movement as a number nine, which is a trait Harry Maguire proved Hojlund struggles with, as the centre-back looked more dangerous up front than the Dane.
