Manchester United hope to strengthen the attacking department, with multiple Premier League targets emerging ahead of the summer transfer window.
Ruben Amorim has no priorities bigger than adding to Manchester United’s frontline at the end of the season.
It is in the final third where United’s biggest issues exist, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring just nine goals in 46 appearances, which is unacceptable for a striker leading the line for the Red Devils.
United added Joshua Zirkzee to the squad last summer, but the Netherlands international managed just seven goals in his first season at Old Trafford. He will aim to build on that next season, but like Hojlund, he runs the risk of falling down the pecking order.
Premier League duo Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha are believed to be on United’s radar, with both players enjoying a reputation-building season, even if their respective sides struggled, as seen with the Tractor Boys relegated to the Championship.

Thomas Frank opens door for Bryan Mbuemo
Delap and Cunha are not the only Premier League forwards linked with a summer move to United.
Brentford striker Bryan Mbuemo has been one of the most exciting players in the Premier League this season, with his performances at Brentford catching the eye of several bigger clubs.
Mbuemo emerged as a United target in January following reports that Amorim is an admirer of the versatile forward, who can play centrally or on the right wing.
The 25-year-old has made 24 goal contributions in 33 Premier League matches this term, and he is the fifth highest scorer in the top flight – 10 goals adrift of chart topper Mohamed Salah.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has now admitted that Mbeumo could be sold this summer.
The Cameroon international has a contract at Brentford which runs until the end of the 2025/26 season, although the club do hold an option to extend by a further 12 months. That means they are not under pressure to sell Mbeumo and can hold out for the right offer.
“If the price is right – and that’s going to be expensive – is coming, then I’m sure the club wuill be open to it,” Frank told Sky Sports.
The Brentford head coach doesn’t think Mbeumo will push for a transfer because he’s “very happy” at the club, but he was unable to rule out his exit.
“I’ve said many times: we are a selling club. But at the same time we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world who aren’t selling clubs.”
Frank made it clear that he is not afraid of having to replace any players in his squad, such as Mbuemo. He puts that down to Brentford’s recruitment in recent years.
He added: “I lost Neal Maupay, Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney as three key strikers that were 25 goals plus. Every season we replace the goals with other players so I am confident that we can do it again.”
Bryan Mbeumo record vs Manchester United
Mbeumo has faced Manchester United seven times throughout his career.
In those matches, Mbeumo has come away victorious on just one occasion.

Mbeumo’s only goal against United came in 2022 when Frank’s side won 4-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Only time will tell if Ineos are willing to construct a deal to bring Mbeumo to United.
United chiefs will be scanning the market for the best deals they can find.
