Manchester United are in the market for a new striker this summer, but securing a big-money signing may not be possible.
Ruben Amorim wanted to add goals to his attacking options this summer, but Manchester United still have a lot of work to do.
Matheus Cunha joined United from Wolverhampton Wanderers, but he cannot be expected to solve the problems on his own.
United are still chasing Bryan Mbeumo and will hopefully make progress on a deal for the Brentford forward in the coming days.
Signing Mbeumo would be a major boost, but that would still leave United looking to bring in another centre-forward.
United may need to sell the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony first, but Rasmus Hojlund’s poor season means another striker is required.

Dusan Vlahovic backed for Manchester United transfer
Viktor Gyokeres looks set for Arsenal, as rumours of a reunion with Amorim finally look set to end.
United must look elsewhere, and Dusan Vlahovic is one name which may appeal.
The Serbian hitman has just one year left on his Juventus contract and could be on the move this summer.
Reports in Italy suggest that Vlahovic may even leave Juventus for free this summer as his agents push for a move.
Juve may even offer Vlahovic to United in a deal for Jadon Sancho, presenting United with a fascinating swap proposal.
Former Juventus striker Darko Kovacevic has now told Gazetta dello Sport that he would urge Vlahovic to leave the club ‘right away’ and start games elsewhere.
Olympiacos sporting director Kovacevic admitted that he couldn’t realistically tempt Vlahovic to Greece, but noted that a move to Old Trafford would be a ‘good option’ for him in an attempt to get back on track.
“I’d tell Dusan to get a change of scenery right away,” said Kovacevic. “It’s not easy to leave Juventus, I say this from personal experience, but sometimes you have to get back in the game to get back to being happy and at the top. Someone like Vlahovic should always be a starter, at Juventus or elsewhere.
“We can’t afford him at Olympiacos, but Milan and Manchester United could be good options for Dusan. And maybe Nottingham Forest… It’s a joke: we have the same ownership as the English club, but I only work for Olympiacos,” he added.
Manchester United must consider Vlahovic move
Vlahovic’s time in Turin seems to be coming to an end, and United should at least consider a move.
Still only 25, Vlahovic could score goals for years to come and has proven himself as a consistent goalscorer in Italy.
Juventus may not have plans for Vlahovic moving forward, but his record of 58 goals in 145 games for the club is pretty impressive.
Vlahovic also bagged 49 goals in 108 games for Fiorentina, meaning his record in Italy now stands at 107 goals in 253 games.
Juventus paid £62million to sign Vlahovic in 2022, as noted by the Daily Mail, but now look set to take a huge loss.
Vlahovic may not be as athletically gifted as some strikers United have targeted, but he knows how to score goals – and that is something United really lacked last season.
United’s talks with Juventus over Sancho may open up the prospect of an exchange, and the need for a new striker at Old Trafford should leave Vlahovic in the mix, especially with a chance to land him on the cheap as his contract runs down.
