Manchester United fans have waited long enough to see Bryan Mbeumo announced as a new signing this summer.

There has been over a month of negotiations for Bryan Mbeumo with Ineos still trying to finalise a deal with Brentford for the 25-year-old forward.

Manchester United kickstarted their summer window with a £62.5m deal for Matheus Cunha, and attention quickly turned to Bryan Mbeumo.

However, every other potential transfer deal at United appears to have been put on hold to push the Mbeumo deal through. Even Mbeumo has grown frustrated at the lack of progress made in recent days.

United have had two bids rejected, but it is understood that a £65m deal for Mbeumo is close and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now issued a new update.

Fabrizio Romano issues positive update on Bryan Mbeumo deal

Ideally, Amorim wanted Mbeumo signed this week so he could join the squad on the pre-season tour of the United States this month.

The new update from Romano suggests the deal could be done imminently with United now discussing the final details.

“Mbeumo still wants to go to Manchester United and the club maintain their confidence and optimism to get the green light to sign Mbeumo in the coming days.

“United keep working, keep negotiating and keep advancing to find the right deal. They are working on easy and difficult add-ons to make Brentford happy with their final proposal.

“So the Mbeumo deal is absolutely alive, with Manchester United prepared to push again in negotiations.”

Bryan Mbeumo to Man United saga is almost over

The Mbeumo transfer saga is finally coming to a close, assuming that United and Brentford can agree on the final add-ons in the deal.

Mbeumo has not attended training with Brentford as he continues to wait for the deal to take place.

Every sign at the moment suggests a deal is imminent, with United set to spend around £65m to secure Mbeumo’s signature.

Therefore, Mbeumo could still make his debut against Leeds United with the Red Devils travelling to Sweden for their first pre-season friendly on July 19.

Beyond that, Mbeumo should be on board for the tour of the United States, which will see Amorim’s side compete in the Premier League Summer Series.
