Manchester United talent Alvaro Fernandez continues to attract interest with Real Betis now joining the race for his signature.

United have landed three major first-team additions now with Rasmus Hojlund joining Mason Mount and Andre Onana at Old Trafford.

There may be room for another midfielder to come in with Sofyan Amrabat wanted, but it now seems like time for some outgoings.

Sales would be ideal but we’re also likely to see a number of young players head out on loan.

Facundo Pellistri could join FC Twente whilst Charlie McNeill, Marc Jurado and Mateo Mejia are bound to have suitors.

Alvaro Fernandez now wanted by Real Betis

Then there is Alvaro Fernandez, who is back with United this summer after a strong season out on loan at Preston North End.

The Spaniard racked up more than 2500 minutes of action in the Championship last season and became a fan favourite at Deepdale.

Fernandez has featured in pre-season for United but could now head out on loan once again.

Estadio Deportivo in Spain report that Real Betis are now keen to sign Fernandez as they weigh up their left back options.

It’s stated that Juan Miranda has just one year left on his deal and hasn’t yet committed to a new contract whilst Abner Vinicius hasn’t convinced and could be loaned out.

If Betis move one of those two left backs on, then they fancy Fernandez to come in and compete.

The report adds that Valencia are interested in Fernandez too whilst hometown Racing de Ferrol – just promoted to Spain’s second tier – have even made an ambitious move.

Fernandez also has a Premier League option

It’s hard to see Fernandez playing much of a role at United given the options at left back.

Luke Shaw is the clear first choice and Tyrell Malacia will offer strong competition when fit.

Fernandez may now need another loan spell at a higher level than the Championship – and there is a Premier League option.

Sky Sports claim that Burnley want to sign Fernandez having seen loanee Ian Maatsen return to Burnley.

Fernandez is bound to have plenty offers in the coming weeks but it looks like La Liga or a trip to Turf Moor could be in his sights.
