Manchester United are pushing to sign Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

Senne Lammens‘ transfer to Manchester United is getting nearer after a decision made by his club.

United stepped up interest in Lammens last week, now attempting to conclude a deal before the transfer deadline.

Talks are ongoing between United and Royal Antwerp, who are seeking £17.3 million (20m) for the goalkeeper.

Senne Lammens set to miss Antwerp game

Amid ongoing discussions over his transfer move, Royal Antwerp have decided Senne Lammens will not play in their match on Sunday August 24.

Ahead of their 12.30pm kick-off against KV Mechelen, the club have made an ‘internal decision’ that Lammens will not play, reports Nieuwsblad.

It is reported that veteran Yannick Thoelen will deputise, with Lammens’ planned replacement Taishi Nozawa still adjusting.

It is claimed Lammens is ‘close to a transfer’, with United ‘pushing ahead and nearing a club agreement’.

Lammens move could lead to Altay Bayindir exit

Manchester United also have a decision to make regarding Sunday’s match, over who will start in goal.

Altay Bayindir started the opening game against Arsenal, but Andre Onana is expected to return to face Fulham.

United In Focus report Bayindir’s representatives are ‘actively’ pushing to secure an exit before the transfer deadline, aware that Lammens’ arrival would complicate his chances of game time.
