Manchester United may have received a boost in the hope of signing Galatasaray right back Sacha Boey in 2024.
The final international break of 2023 is upon us but United fans will already be thinking about upcoming fixtures.
United face three away games in a row, starting with a trip to face Everton at Goodison Park, which is never ideal.
United must also head to St James’ Park to face Newcastle United, but only after a testing visit to Turkey.
Galatasaray await in United’s penultimate Champions League group-stage game and United simply have to win.
Sacha Boey pulls U-turn on Galatasaray future amid Manchester United links
That means another meeting with right back Sacha Boey, who turned in a fine performance at Old Trafford earlier this season.
Boey helped Galatasaray produce a big win against United and seemingly put himself on Erik ten Hag’s radar.
Fotospor reported in October that United had been scouting Boey ahead of a potential move for him in 2024.
Well, if United are preparing a move then there is some encouragement emerging from Turkey.
Aksam report that Boey had been offered a new deal worth around £25,000-a-week plus bonuses – and he ‘responded positively’ to that offer.
However, it’s stated that Boey has, ‘at the last point’, refused to sign that deal and told Galatasaray that he wants to move to the Premier League.
United’s interest is mentioned again, alongside that of Arsenal and Brighton, with a €20million (£17million) fee mentioned.
Boey seemingly has his mind made up and United will be watching very closely, potentially ready to take full advantage with a bid.

Manchester United must figure out right back situation
Maybe United fancy signing Boey, but the right back situation must be figured out first.
Diogo Dalot often shows quality going forward but switches off too often defensively, whilst Aaron Wan-Bissaka is almost the other way around – a solid defender most of the time but not as dynamic going forward.
These two have been battling it out for years and yet we are still asking which one is better than the other.
The cold, hard truth of the matter is that United will need better at right back going forward and must not reward mediocrity.
Dalot landed a new five-year deal earlier this year whilst Wan-Bissaka has a one-year option in his deal ahead of its expiration next summer.
United may yet choose to move on from Wan-Bissaka or try to sell Dalot, meaning right backs will be analysed closely.
Boey is one of them, but we would be surprised with a January move given that United surely won’t add a third right back.
