Manchester United are struggling for goals right now and another attacking addition may be in mind for January or even next summer.
The second international break of the season is here and Manchester United remain unconvincing under Erik ten Hag.
United sit 14th in the Premier League table with just two wins from the first seven games.
That record is bad enough, but when you look at just five goals scored in those seven games is simply unacceptable.
Joshua Zirkzee struggled off the bench at Aston Villa and still hasn’t scored since his big move from Bologna.
Rasmus Hojlund is only just back from injury but relying on him to shoulder the burden is a big ask – as we saw last season.

Manchester United linked with red-hot attacker
United only just invested in Zirkzee and Hojlund only arrived just over a year ago, so there will be hope that those deals pay off down the line.
Signing another forward may be tricky as a result but one attacking player appears to be on the United radar.
Caught Offside suggest that United could make a move for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush.
It’s suggested that Arsenal, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and West Ham United are teams to watch alongside Marmosuh.
The report claims that Eintracht would consider offers of around €30million (£25million) for Marmoush.
That seems a little cheap though, especially when considering that he is still under contract until the summer of 2027.
Frankfurt have sold players for big money in recent times, raking in larger fees for Willian Pacho, Sebastien Haller, Luka Jovic and Randal Kolo Muani.
Marmoush is now their next prized asset and it will surely take more than £25million to prise him away from the Bundesliga club.
Who is Omar Marmoush?
Marmoush emerged with Wadi Degla in his native Egypt before being snapped up by Wolfsburg in 2017 at the age of just 18.
After starting out in the Wolfsburg second team, Marmoush impressed on loan at St Pauli in 2021 and then with Stuttgart in the 2021-22 season.
Marmoush scored five times for Wolfsburg in the 2022-23 season but decided to leave for Eintracht on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old has now taking his game to another level with Eintracht, hitting 17 goals in all competitions last season.
This term has been even better with Marmoush smashing nine goals and six assists in just nine games.
Marmoush has been the real breakout star in the early weeks of the Bundesliga season and scored an injury-time leveller against Bayern Munich on Sunday.
Marmoush has been praised by boss Dino Toppmoller, who pointed out his ‘blistering pace’ in quotes from KingFut.
“Omar is a fantastic boy who always gives maximum effort in addition to his blistering pace,” said Toppmoller. “I’m very impressed with his development in the final third, as he’s now a lot more calmer on the ball, he’s really good at runs from behind as well.
“He’s really taken a huge step in his development, especially with the way he’s played in the past few games,” he added.
Marmoush’s ability to play out wide and up front may well appeal to United but it would be a surprise to see a January deal materialise given the investment in Zirkzee just months ago.
