Erik ten Hag signing just delivered his worst Man Utd performance so far, only three passes completed

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag spent heavily in the summer transfer window once again, and is waiting for his new signings to really click.

It takes just a simple look at the Premier League table to know all is not well at Manchester United.

The Red Devils are slumped in 14th position, clearly illustrating that the new signings have not had the desired effect so far.

The one who has regressed the most is Joshua Zirkzee, who was terrible when he came on against Aston Villa.

Joshua Zirkzee vs Aston Villa

Rasmus Hojlund seized his chance against Porto when he scored on his first start of the season, and retained his place against Aston Villa.

United struggled to create chances against Villa, and after 64 minutes, Hojlund was substituted off and Joshua Zirkzee brought on.

The intention was to add some composure into United’s attack, for Zirkzee to help link the play a bit better, and provide something different. It did not work out.

Below are Joshua Zirkzee’s numbers against Aston Villa

Zirkzee’s worst display yet

It is not always easy coming on as a substitute – but this was a really poor effort from Joshua Zirkzee.

The Dutchman is struggling to provide any sort of goal threat, and has not scored for the club since his debut in the season opener.

Manchester United needed a composed performance from Zirkzee, and instead of linking play, he wasted one of the team’s best counter-attacking opportunities.

United fans are not convinced by Zirkzee yet. He has positive traits, but Manchester United need a goalscorer, and the Dutchman is never going to be prolific.

This has not been a good month for him, and Manchester United have failed to score in four of the past five Premier League matches.

Rather than provide a solution, Zirkzee is just another part of the problem.
