Manchester United have had to widen their search for a striker after missing out on several top targets already.
Heading into the summer it was clear that Manchester United would be targeting a new striker but Liam Delap snubbed a move which complicated Ineos’ plans.
Viktor Gyokeres is set to join Arsenal, and the Swedish striker was also high up on the shopping list due to his connection with Ruben Amorim.
The priority for United is to get the Bryan Mbeumo deal done this week before the pre-season tour of the United States, but attention will then quickly turn to signing a striker.
The Red Devils have been linked to countless strikers already this window, but one that appears to have some concrete interest is Dusan Vlahovic.

Man United have been told why not to sign Dusan Vlahovic
Vlahovic has been told to join United this summer after seeing his form plummet at Juventus last season.
The 25-year-old made a £62m move to Juventus in 2022 and was given a huge contract that made him one of the top earners at the Turin club.
However, Juventus are now looking to offload him this summer and there are even reports that Vlahovic could leave for free.
Vlahovic could be involved in a Jadon Sancho deal after he was heavily linked with a move to Juventus, but noise around that potential deal has since quietened down.
While he was once considered one of the most promising forwards in Europe, Italian journalist Paolo De Paola has explained exactly why United should stay away from this deal.
As quoted by TuttoJuve, De Paola said: “He has no control of the ball, he takes ridiculous penalties, he seems neurotic when he touches the ball.
“He earns €12 million a year, €1 million a month. He’s a dud.”
Man United must avoid Dusan Vlahovic risk
If De Paola’s numbers are correct, then Vlahovic is earning around £200,000 per week at Juventus, and would likely want those figures to be matched at United.
Last season he only scored 10 goals in 29 Serie A appearances, and he would be looking to get his career back on track if he made a move to Manchester.
Old Trafford has not been kind to new signings in recent years, with Gary Neville describing it as a “graveyard” for talent.
United have taken transfer risks before and they have heavily backfired. Even if Vlahovic arrived on a cheap deal, it would be a huge gamble by Ineos.
Amorim needs a clinical and confident forward to bolster his attack, and Vlahovic clearly frustrated fans at Juventus with his poor finishing.
