Nicky Butt was speaking exclusively to Paddy Power and expressed his keenness for United to sign Aurelien Tchouameni this summer. This is despite Tchouameni’s recent Real Madrid fall-out.
“I wouldn’t have any doubts bringing him in because of the fight.
“Unless someone really tells me something really bad that happened prior to the fight, it wouldn’t change my mind. I think it happens in every changing room.
“It’s certainly happened in the ones that I was in. I think there’s a lot of testosterone floating about a lot of egos floating around in changing rooms. Something gets said and it kicks off.
“It’s not the ideal thing that you want in a team, but I wouldn’t certainly wouldn’t be going around thinking, ‘I wouldn’t be going near him or touching him’, unless it comes out that he’s done something that’s really out of order.
“He’s still my main target for midfield. I think he’s powerful, aggressive, everything that Man United need in a midfielder.”
Rio Ferdinand also wasn’t put off signing Tchouameni by the events of the last week, and his apparent dressing room fight.

Tchouameni is the best option available to Manchester United this summer
United have a long list of midfield targets this summer, but of those linked, Tchouameni is the strongest option to replace Casemiro.
This is because of his experience in a Champions League-winning side and also in the midfield internationally for France.
Tchouameni would arrive as a leader for United, which is so valuable considering we will lose the impact of Casemiro.
Therefore, this is a signing United really have to make, with the second and third arrivals less important when the first is this good and experienced.
