The season of Manchester United’s nightmares is over, and the summer of change can now officially begin.

Ruben Amorim will have been delighted when the final whistle blew on Sunday against Aston Villa, with the 2-0 win signing off the season on a high and leaving Old Trafford in a far better mood than pre-game.

After the game, Amorim promised fans that the ‘good days are coming’ for United, and in order to make good on this, some excellent recruitment is required by Ineos this summer.

This will entail several arrivals to replace the impending axing of multiple players, of which Alejandro Garnacho has already been told to find a new club.

In order to replace the Argentine, United are set to sign Wolves’ Matheus Cunha with a deal thought to be imminent.

Now, an update on the move has been shared, with information on his possible medical revealed.

When will Matheus Cunha undergo Manchester United medical?

The signing of Cunha will significantly boost United’s forward options next season, with his 15 Premier League goals better than any of Amorim’s players.

Cunha is expected to sign a five-year contract with United with the move now to be fast tracked with the season concluded for both clubs.

United will pay Wolves £62.5m for Cunha over three years, with £20m expected to be the sum for this summer.

Now, the deal is edging closer still, with the Daily Mail reporting when the Brazilian could undergo his medical.

It is claimed that Cunha could travel to Manchester as early as this week in order to complete his medical. This will happen once United officially trigger the release clause which could happen at any time.

Who else could Manchester United sign in the attack this summer?

With just 44 Premier League goals scored during the 2024-25 season, adding scorers to this team was always going to be Amorim’s top priority.

Cunha had 15 goals for Wolves, which is already a third of the total league goals the entire United team had.

Now, United are also looking to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, which could be an incredible swoop to sign one of the country’s best players for just £50m.

Mbeumo scored 20 Premier League goals for Brentford, and so adding him and Cunha would see United adding a duo who scored 79 per cent of the amount that Amorim’s entire team did in 2024-25.

This would be a significant upgrade on Garnacho and Marcus Rashford, and would take the goal burden off whoever is starting up top come August.
