Manchester United need to make signing in 2025 and Ruben Amorim may well fancy adding a new goalkeeper to his ranks.
Ruben Amorim will be desperate to end 2024 on a high.
Manchester United were beaten 2-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day and it’s now four defeats in the last five Premier League games.
Gary Neville has urged Amorim not to change his approach, believing that United need to go through some pain to eventually thrive.
Amorim appears to be taking the same approach but surely knows that he needs major investment in this squad.
A number of positions need attention in 2025 and Amorim may see one key area as a major priority.

Manchester United eye Premier League star
Andre Onana signed from Inter Milan in 2023 and started his United career in shaky fashion but eventually won fans over.
Rio Ferdinand praised Onana earlier this season but the goalkeeper is now giving Amorim a decision to make.
Poor handling against Nottingham Forest, gifting Plzen a goal, flapping at the Wolves opener on Boxing Day… there have been too many questionable moments from Onana of late.
United may now look to sign a new goalkeeper with the Daily Star claiming that Onana is unsettled in Manchester.
Their report adds that United are now eyeing Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen as a replacement for Onana.
It’s suggested that the Seagulls are seeking around £30million for Verbruggen – which seems a little on the low side.
Brighton only tend to sell their star players for huge fees and they may well demand more than £30million for Verbruggen if United make a move.

Bart Verbruggen’s mentor has just left Manchester United
Verbruggen has shown quality and potential in the Premier League but has also committed some Onana-like errors too.
Perhaps that is just to be expected of goalkeepers in the modern game given the expectations on them now and Brighton defender Joel Veltman told BBC Sport that Verbruggen is simply ‘amazing’.
Verbruggen may well be United’s top target in goal but his mentor has only recently left Old Trafford.
Jelle ten Rouwelaar has followed Ruud van Nistelrooy to Leicester City having been let go by United after Amorim’s appointment.
The Dutch goalkeeper coach joined United over the summer as he joined forces with compatriot Erik ten Hag.
Ten Rouwelaar has been absolutely key to the development of Verbruggen over the years having crossed paths at NAC Breda.
When Ten Rouwelaar joined Anderlecht in 2020, Verbruggen followed as he completed a move to the Belgian side.
Ten Rouwelaar then followed Vincent Kompany to Burnley in 2022 and The Burnley Express noted that Burnley were close to signing Verbruggen.
Brighton managed to win the race though, preventing yet another reunion between Ten Rouwelaar and Verbruggen.
Just weeks after Ten Rouwelaar left United, Verbruggen appears to be a prime target inside Old Trafford – and United may hope that Verbruggen’s mentor doesn’t dissuade him from a potential 2025 move.
