Manchester United need to replace Casemiro at the end of the current season, and speculation is growing over a possible replacement.
The absolute unquestioned top priority for Manchester United in the transfer market this summer is central midfield.
With Casemiro leaving with his contract expiring, United are also expected to sell Manuel Ugarte too. A major renovation is required at the position.
Various names have been linked including weekend opponent Elliot Anderson, while Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni is another high-profile alternative.

How much should Man Utd pay to sign Aurelien Tchouameni? What would you consider a fair fee?

United urged to buy Tchouameni
Former Premier League defender William Gallas believes Aurelien Tchouameni is the best possible replacement for Casemiro, because he shares similar traits.
He also compares Tchouameni with the style of player Michael Carrick was during his own United career.
Gallas told BetVictor: “If Manchester United are looking for a player identical to Casemiro and with experience of winning trophies, I would say Aurelien Tchouameni is a great option.
“Casemiro is the player who stays just in front of the defence but has the quality to be a playmaker when being pressured by the opponent.
“He can be calm. Michael Carrick was like this, too. They are calm in front of the defence and can support the attack, and I think Tchouameni can do this very well. He is a good choice.”
Tchouameni could be available from Real Madrid after a frustrating season that recently boiled over with a dressing room dispute.
Real Madrid have decided to re-appoint former United boss Jose Mourinho, and it is unclear what his plans are for Tchouameni.
What are your thoughts on the ‘fights’ between Tchouameni and Valverde… does this present an opportunity for United? Or is this a bad omen for a transfer?

Tchouameni is used to high pressure
One of the traits Manchester United will be searching for in a new signing is the ability to handle pressure.
Aurelien Tchouameni will already be used to this. He was asked to replace Casemiro at Real Madrid four years ago when he was only 22.
Now with that experience behind him, which includes winning the Champions League, Tchouameni will be well prepared for whatever comes his way at Manchester United.
