Manchester United will be looking for big signings this summer as Ruben Amorim looks to retool his squad at Old Trafford.
Manchester United were quiet on transfer deadline day and Ruben Amorim must now go with what he has at his disposal.
This United squad needs so much work but there is only so much you can do during the January transfer window.
United did manage to sign Patrick Dorgu with the wing back arriving from Lecce to hopefully become Amorim’s star man down the left flank for years to come.
Ayden Heaven and Diego Leon have signed too but they are youngsters for the future, whereas Dorgu may play first-team football a little quicker.
Attacking additions must be the summer focus for United but a top player at the other end of the pitch continues to be linked.

Manchester United links to Borussia Dortmund star continue
Reports last week suggested that United could rival Chelsea for Gregor Kobel.
United are understood to be long-term admirers of the Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper and could make a move this summer.
Andre Onana has put himself in danger of being replaced with some poor displays and alarming mistakes this season.
It’s difficult to imagine Kobel arriving without Onana leaving; neither would settle for a place on the bench at Old Trafford.
German reports are now backing up the interest though with Sky Germany claiming that United are ‘continuing to monitor the situation’ around Kobel.
Chelsea’s interest is again mentioned but Sky Germany believe that an ‘early transfer’ this summer is a real possibility.
Onana leaving early in the window and clearing the way for Kobel’s arrival seems unlikely, but the Swiss international may be one to keep an eye on this summer.
Dortmund chief on Gregor Kobel
Kobel is under contract until 2028 but may be ready for the next step in his career.
A move to England would surely appeal to Kobel, who is looking to nail down a spot as Switzerland’s number one goalkeeper in the coming years.
Dortmund just signed a new goalkeeper, landing Diant Ramaj from Ajax – and that has sparked questions about whether he is being viewed as a long-term Kobel successor.
Dortmund managing director Lars Ricken has played down that idea, suggesting that Kobel is ‘one of the best in Europe’ and will still be first choice moving forward.
“In Gregor Kobel we have one of the best in Europe. Behind him are [Alexander] Meyer and [Marcel] Lotka. We are in a great position there,” said Ricken, as quoted by Sky Germany.
There are enough whispers around Kobel’s future that a summer transfer may well be on the horizon – and Onana must find his form again soon or risk being replaced.
