Manchester United are willing to double Andre Onana’s wages as Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio arrives in England to continue talks with the Premier League giants.
For all the frustration bubbling beneath the surface at the lack of new faces through the door at Old Trafford, Manchester United could still have two high-profile signings in place before pre-season gets underway next month.

Talks for Andre Onana, meanwhile, are accelerating fast.
The Cameroon international’s agent was in Manchester last week (Gianluca DiMarzio). Now, it is Piero Ausilio’s turn to jet into England’s north west, Calciomercato reporting that Inter Milan’s sporting director is now in town.

Manchester United hope that £42 million can be enough to secure Onana’s signature; Inter’s well-publicised financial issues playing into Erik ten Hag’s hands.
Gazzetta dello Sport add that Onana could double his wages at Old Trafford too. The 26-year-old goalkeeper earns £50,000-a-week at the San Siro, but would reportedly take home £100,000-a-week with the Red Devils.
“Football today is different than it was in my generation,” ex-Inter shot-stopper Sebastien Frey told Goal over the weekend, pessimistic over his former club’s chances of retaining a goalkeeper who worked with Ten Hag at Ajax.
“(Former president Massimo) Moratti’s Inter could afford to keep a player regardless of the size of an offer. Now, there are other needs to think about.
“But if it just depended on me, I would keep him. It’s difficult to find a great goalkeeper. If they want to win trophies, then they should keep him.
“Unfortunately, I think they’ll let him leave.”
The Standard report that Inter will not stand in Onana’s way should Manchester United meet their asking price.
The Barcelona academy graduate appears to have overtaken Porto’s Diogo Costa as United’s number one goalkeeping target, with David de Gea’s contract expiring in the coming days.
