Ruben Amorim has tasted defeat for the first time as Manchester United boss and will know his side needs improvements.
Manchester United travelled down to North London on Wednesday night for the biggest test of the Ruben Amorim era so far.
It’s one thing beating Bodo/Glimt and Everton but a trip to title-chasing Arsenal was never going to be easy.
United were fairly solid from open play but two set pieces ended up handing Arsenal a 2-0 victory.
We highlighted the importance of set pieces before the game but United were caught out twice and fell to defeat.
Amorim will be seriously concerned about how toothless United looked in the final third and another striker may yet be wanted in 2025.

Manchester United have fear over potential striker signing
Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have all bagged braces under Amorim but consistency is the concern.
Amorim will want a consistent sources of goals moving forward – especially having seen Viktor Gyokeres smash goal after goal for Sporting.
United fans want Gyokeres but other strikers have been linked with moves to Old Trafford.
Reports just last week suggested that United are interested in signing Victor Boniface having scouted the Bayer Leverkusen forward.
The Nigerian has hit 29 goals in 49 games since joining Leverkusen from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023.
Fussball News reporter Christopher Michel now claims that Boniface is on the United radar but is not a top target.
Michel claims that United have major concerns about Boniface’s injury record and would therefore be hesitant to strike a deal.
Boniface has already suffered two anterior cruciate ligament injuries as well as a considerable adductor injury by the age of 23.
United’s injury history will spark Victor Boniface fears
United would need to pay considerable cash for Boniface and it’s no surprise to hear that United are hesitant.
Jay-Jay Okocha has praised Boniface as ‘amazing’ whilst speaking to LiveScore and he certainly has the talent to be a Premier League goalscorer.
United already have a number of injury-prone players though and that may be a factor in this concern over Boniface.
Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez have regularly picked up injury concerns in recent times and Mason Mount has been through repeated struggles too.
United just can’t afford to bring in another player who will end up spending so much time on the treatment table and Boniface may well be one to forget about in 2025.
