Manchester United continue to be linked with potential striking additions this summer and a raid on Jose Mourinho is now being rumoured.
Manchester United fans are used to seeing goals flying in.
Throughout the Premier League era, United have been blessed with great goalscorers; Eric Cantona, Andrew Cole, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie… the list goes on and on.
Right now though, United’s attack is flat, uninspiring and firing blanks.
United lost 1-0 at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, meaning the Premier League goal tally stands at just 28 goals in 25 games.
Rasmus Hojlund’s goal drought is causing concern and Ruben Amorim likes Joshua Zirkzee as a number 10, so another striker may be a priority this summer.

Manchester United eye Arsenal striker target
We are seeing United being linked with a number of potential striking options well in advance of the summer window.
Juventus ace Dusan Vlahovic has been linked with United as he heads towards the final year of his contract in Turin.
Vlahovic will not be the only name on United’s radar though and a surprise name has emerged this week.
Turkish newspaper Sabah report that United are now interested in signing Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Neysri.
It’s suggested that both United and Arsenal are following En-Nesyri closely ahead of a potential summer move.
The Moroccan striker joined Fenerbahce for around €20million (£16.5million) over the summer, as noted by Fabrizio Romano, leaving Sevilla for a move to Turkiye.
En-Nesyri has enjoyed a strong first season with Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, scoring 23 goals in all competitions.
The former Leganes man scored against United earlier this season too, bagging for Fenerbahce in a 1-1 Europa League draw.
United have eyed En-Nesyri in the past too, with the striker targeted under Erik ten Hag ahead of the January 2024 transfer window.
No deal materialised then but United are back in for En-Nesyri once more after a strong season in front of goal.
Jose Mourinho verdict on Youssef En-Nesyri
Any deal would see United raid Jose Mourinho, who has given a passionate defence of En-Nesyri in recent days.
As quoted by beIN SPORTS, Mourinho noted that he has received backlash from fans and media over the signing of En-Nesyri.
Some felt that he had overpaid for the striker and wanted him sold to a Saudi Arabian club in January.
Mourinho noted that he trusted En-Nesyri all along though and believes that he is now showing his true self having really settled in at Fenerbahce.
“I think his form has to do with time,” said En-Nesyri.
“When En-Nesyri came here, he hadn’t had a pre-season camp. When he came, he wasn’t in a condition to play 90 minutes. He also played very few games with Edin Dzeko on the pitch at the same time. At that time, one of them was playing. Later, when he got fit, I decided to play him together and his form improved.
“When you criticised him, I trusted him. Myself and our sporting director were criticised, the club was criticised for paying too much. There was even talk of selling him to Saudi Arabia in January. We are seeing what kind of player he is now. Also, the team is playing very well, which affects him. He has 15 goals in the league without a penalty. He also has goals in Europe and in the cup. He is doing very well at the moment,” he added.
United now appear to be keen on En-Nesyri, but you can be sure that Mourinho will be demanding that Fenerbahce seek a healthy profit on the 27-year-old forward.
