Manchester United will look to sign a new striker this summer and could look to an experienced option in the Bundesliga.
Manchester United’s tally of 38 goals in 32 Premier League games simply isn’t good enough.
Wayne Rooney scored 27 goals on his own in the 2011-12 season, and United must find a way to score more goals.
Rasmus Hojlund is wanted in Italy, and the Dane’s struggles this season mean that a sale can’t be ruled out.
United are eyeing Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike but could look elsewhere in the Bundesliga for a new goalscorer.

Manchester United make contact for Patrik Schick
Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger reports that United are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick.
It’s stated that United would prefer to sign a younger striker, but the prospect of signing Schick has become very interesting.
Berger claims that United have made ‘initial contact’ for Schick, with a first move made for the Czech striker ahead of the summer window.
Schick fancies a move to the Premier League over Saudi Arabia, and Leverkusen would sell for up around €30million (£26million).
That would be much, much cheaper than the aforementioned Ektitike, with Schick entering the final two years of his contract.
The 29-year-old has been exceptional this season, smashing 17 goals in 26 Bundesliga games, with his total season tally standing at 23 goals in 40 games.
Hailed as a ‘wonderful’ striker by former Leverkusen chief Rudi Voller, as quoted by Get German Football, Schick could emerge as a bargain solution to United’s goalscoring problems.
Ralf Rangnick wanted Patrik Schick
Schick’s name may ring a bell for United fans, having previously been targeted for a move to Old Trafford.
Fabrizio Romano told Caught Offside in 2022 that United had been looking at Schick in the Ralf Rangnick era.
This wasn’t just a one-off either, as Rangnick oversaw the loan deal which took Schick to RB Leipzig from Roma in 2019.
Agent Pavel Paska was quoted by Football Italia as saying that Rangnick was a key reason behind that Leipzig move and hinted the pair could reunite at AC Milan.
Rangnick didn’t end up in Milan but did join United in 2021, and the now-Austria boss seemingly wanted Schick once again.
Now, at the peak of his powers in Germany, the time may finally be right for Schick to make the move to Old Trafford.
