Manchester United are targeting a new goalkeeper from the MLS as their search for a new goalkeeper heats up.
According to a report from the MEN, Manchester United are ‘monitoring’ Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.
The 23-year-old has made strides in the MLS for New England Revolution, with his performances catching the attention of top clubs in Europe.
United are thought to be amongst the Premier League sides, looking at bringing Petrovic to England. It is believed that despite interest, there has been no contact as of yet from the Old Trafford chiefs.
Liverpool are also thought to be interested in the Serbian who has a contract until 2025, with a decent fee likely expected.
Another bonus is due to having been capped twice for Serbia, he is now eligible for a work permit. This has been the case from last month, making a move to England possible.

Petrovic is highly sought after with Porto reportedly viewing him as a potential Diogo Costa replacement who is also a United target.
Petrovic has six clean sheets in 17 MLS appearances this season, with 21 goals conceded. The MEN do note that the Serbian wouldn’t be a starter, but rather an option.
With a value of €3.5million (£2.9m), he could represent a top option to replace the outgoings. With Jack Butland gone along with potential departures of Tom Heaton and Dean Henderson.
The latest in United’s goalkeeper hunt
Andre Onana appears to be the front runner currently, with reports from Italy suggesting his agents met with United yesterday.
It is thought that the Red Devils believe a deal worth £45m would be enough to tempt Inter Milan into selling.
This comes as it is rumoured David de Gea will be leaving Old Trafford next week as his contract expires.
Whatever happens in between the sticks at United, it seems we aren’t far away from an answer.
