Manchester United are back in the hunt to sign Monaco right back Vanderson ahead of the January transfer window.
We are nearing that time of year again – the January transfer window is nearing and Manchester United will be linked with plenty of players.
United need to consider signings in a number of positions after a disappointing first few months of the season.
Right back may well be one of them, with Monaco star Vanderson believed to be back on the wish list again…
Manchester United want Monaco ace Vanderson again
90Min report that United are eyeing Vanderson alongside his Monaco teammate Youssouf Fofana.
This isn’t the first time we have seen the Brazilian mentioned with regards to a United move.
Vanderson admitted to AS in September that it was ‘fantastic’ to be linked with a club like United.
The 22-year-old has impressed as an attack-minded right back, often playing further forward up the right flank too.
An interesting factor here is Paul Mitchell, the former Monaco sporting director who could join United in 2024.
The Athletic claim that Mitchell personally convinced Vanderson to snub other clubs and pick a 2022 move to Monaco.
Mitchell could be influential in any move for Vanderson in 2024, but United have things to sort out first.

Erik ten Hag needs to figure out his right back situation
United already have two right backs in Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The pair have now been battling it out for more than four years in an effort to land the first-choice role on a regular basis.
It’s nearly 2024 and we are none the wiser; neither have been able to prove that they are consistently better than the other one.
The natural idea here is to bring in a new right back and move one on, but Dalot signed a new contract earlier this year.
Wan-Bissaka has been in talks over a new deal too, meaning United are risking being stuck with this same battle for a while yet.
Maybe Mitchell would push for change and attempt to bring Vanderson in, but one thing is for sure – United can’t be carrying three right backs and somebody will surely have to go for Vanderson to arrive.
