Manchester United have a full verbal agreement to sign Wout Weghorst, claims Fabrizio Romano.

However, Besiktas are still to sign off on a deal as they want to land a replacement first.

Romano claimed on Twitter: “Manchester United have reached full, verbal agreement to sign Wout Weghorst! Understand deal will cost around €3m to Besiktas — Weghorst will join on loan from Burnley.

“Final step needed: Besiktas will only approve the deal if they find the right replacement”

The Times had separately claimed Besiktas wanted 35 per cent of the loan fee for the Dutch striker.

United’s financial agreement for the loan deal is with Burnley, however, Besiktas appear comfortable with the terms, per Romano.

Times report had claimed yesterday that ‘Weghorst begs Besiktas to cancel loan’, showing very clearly that the Netherlands striker was determined to clinch his once in a lifetime move to Manchester United.

Romano had claimed earlier in the day that United were set to hold a new round of talks, which appear to have been successful.

Besiktas’ search for a replacement could lead them to Vincent Aboubakar, report The Athletic, who has been forced out by Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.

There is a good chance the Weghorst deal could be done by the end of this week, if United continue to make progress on the move.
