Manchester United have new hope in pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane after Real Madrid pulled out.
Karim Benzema’s departure from Real Madrid to join Al Ittihad had opened up the possibility the Spanish side would launch a move for Harry Kane.
BBC Sport reported Real’s interest in Harry Kane – however, according to AS, it is over already.
Real Madrid have been spooked by Daniel Levy’s high asking price of £100 million, and are not willing to waste any time.

Having just spent a huge sum on Jude Bellingham, Real cannot, or are unwilling to, splash another £100 million on Harry Kane.
And they have no intention of playing negotiating games with Daniel Levy, quite sensibly.
AS report: “Harry Kane is no longer an objective for Real Madrid to reinforce the forward line, the operation is irretrievably cold.”
There were also doubts over whether Kane wanted to leave the Premier League for La Liga.
This is good news for Manchester United, as it leaves the Red Devils as the only viable suitor for Kane right now.
And it’s bad news for Tottenham, who cannot now engineer a bidding war for Kane’s services between United and Real.
The way Real blew competition out the water for Bellingham would have been ominous for United, if they made a serious play for Kane.
United don’t have to worry about that now. This is just a straight battle between the Red Devils and Tottenham, while Kane himself must decide and communicate what he wants, and fight for it.
The Guardian report manager Erik ten Hag is ‘obsessed’ with the idea of signing Harry Kane this summer.
Kane has only one year left on his contract. Tottenham are holding out for a big fee – or unwilling to sell at all.
It won’t be easy – but this is a considerable boost for United’s chances.
