Manchester United have submitted an offer for goalkeeper Andre Onana. It is below Inter Milan’s valuation.

An opening offer for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana has been submitted, claims Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

Pedulla reports Manchester United’s offer is 40 million Euros plus five million in bonuses. This converts to £34 million plus a further £3 million.

It is below Inter Milan’s asking price of £42 million plus £10 million in bonuses.

Andre Onana progress

This is progress for Manchester United, who typically like to low-ball with early bids, before gradually increasing to meet a compromise on asking price.

United’s first offer for Mason Mount was £40 million, before eventually agreeing to £55 million plus £5 million in bonuses.

According to Pedulla, Inter Milan have imposed a deadline at their end, desiring to complete a deal by July 20.

This is more than reasonable, and should be in United’s interests to get a deal done in advance of that, as the Red Devils fly out on pre-season tour days earlier.

Inter are reported to have dismissed United’s earlier offer and contacts between the two clubs are continuing.

While United are continuing to explore alternatives, Onana is the club’s top option, with Erik ten Hag knowing him previously from his stint at Ajax.

Pedulla adds: “After the first offer it is up to Manchester United to make another move.”
