Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is being lined up for a return to Borussia Dortmund.

Jadon Sancho is currently in the doghouse at Manchester United with the winger training individually following a fallout with Erik ten Hag.

Even if the relationship is repaired, it may only be temporary measure before the transfer window re-opens in January.

Rumours are already emerging over potential destinations for Sancho as he plots his Old Trafford exit.

Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund

A report at the end of last week in The MEN claimed Sancho was open to a return to Borussia Dortmund.

The German club have reportedly been tracking Sancho’s situation too, according to newspaper Der Westen.

The report says: “Borussia Dortmund have followed this very closely. There has been a rumor for a long time that Jadon Sancho, who was unhappy in Manchester, would only be happy to return to BVB. Now the chance is there.”

Battle for Sancho

Sancho was rated as one of Europe’s biggest talents when he was signed by Manchester United in 2021.

However, he has not lived up to his hefty price tag and has failed to secure a spot as a regular starter, trialled in different positions without sustained success.

There is a chance Sancho’s situation can be repaired, but the longer he remains away from the first team squad, the more unlikely it gets.

The MEN‘s report last week claimed Sancho was even open to a move to Nottingham Forest, where he could work with his former England youth boss Steve Cooper.

Being willing to take this step down just to get away from Manchester United is pretty revealing about Sancho’s desperation for a new start.

A move to Dortmund seems more likely though, leaving the Premier League behind, and returning to the Bundesliga where he enjoyed great success, it could be the ideal place for him to reset.
