Manchester United are tracking USA World Cup star liked by Jason Wilcox

Manchester United’s recruitment team will be watching host nation United States closely during the 2026 World Cup.

The search for midfield targets has been extensive at Manchester United, with as many as 24 targets linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Top targets like Elliot Anderson, Aurelien Tchouameni and Sandro Tonali now appear out of reach, so sporting director Jason Wilcox and recruitment chief Christopher Vivell are being forced to pivot.

United have already signed Ederson for £38m, and now reports claim Tyler Adams is being monitored.

Latest update on Man United and Tyler Adams

Back in December, reports claimed Wilcox suggested Adams as a target for United, and it seems the 27-year-old is still being monitored.

According to Caught Offside, United are tracking Adams closely, while Premier League rivals Chelsea are also showing interest.

The report claims a bid of around £30 million would be enough to test Bournemouth’s resolve for the USMNT star.

United like Adams’ character, and his style of play as a mobile midfielder fits the profile that the Red Devils want this summer.

The former Leeds United star would not exactly be the marquee signing that fans have been hoping for, but United view him as a smart option in midfield.

Tyler Adams has been superb at the World Cup

While stories about his future rumble on in the background, Adams is with the US national team for the 2026 World Cup this summer.

USA have made a brilliant start to the tournament, winning their opening two group stage matches against Paraguay and Australia.

Adams played a full 90 minutes in both matches, and he showed his ability to play in both a two-man and three-man midfield under Mauricio Pochettino.

As per SofaScore, Adams has recorded a 7/10 performance in both matches, making him one of the USA’s best and most consistent players.
