Manchester United will look to back Ruben Amorim in the transfer market and we are seeing more and more rumours emerging this week.

Ruben Amorim is off the market in the Premier League having secured his first Premier League victory as Manchester United boss.

Amorim saw United beat Everton 4-0 on Sunday, just days after a 3-2 home win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

United now turn the attention to Arsenal with a trip down to the Emirates Stadium taking place on Wednesday night.

Amorim is still learning about his squad at Old Trafford but transfer speculation is ramping up ahead of the January window.

Manchester United keen on Porto star

This week alone we have seen a number of rumours emerge.

Juventus wonderkid Kenan Yildiz is on United’s radar whilst Feyenoord talent Antoni Milambo has been discussed inside United.

Another name can be added to the list with the Daily Mail reporting that United have been ‘gathering information’ on Porto striker Samu Aghehowa.

United scouts watched Samu – recently known as Samu Omorodion before a name change – in action for Porto against Casa Pia.

Samu scored in a 2-0 Porto victory, potentially impressing United scouts as he found the net once again.

The 20-year-old striker has hit 13 goals in 16 games for Porto this season having joined from Atletico Madrid over the summer.

Already a full Spanish international, Samu almost joined Chelsea over the summer but may now attract even more interest in 2025.

How did Samu play against United?

United fans saw Samu cause mayhem against Erik ten Hag’s United side earlier this season.

Porto hosted United in the Europa League back in October and Samu made a huge impact.

Samu scored twice in a 3-3 draw, first burying a powerful header before firing his second and Porto’s third into the top corner.

Samu was a menace throughout and former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves suggested on TNT Sports that he gave Matthijs de Ligt an ‘absolute nightmare’.

The striker played once against Ruben Amorim’s Sporting earlier this season but couldn’t find the net in a 2-0 defeat.

A tall and powerful forward, Samu is now on the United radar for 2025 with more striking additions considered despite Joshua Zirkzee’s summer arrival.
