Manchester United have several positions that must be strengthened over the summer transfer window to ensure a repeat of this season does not happen.
This season has been a disaster for Manchester United, with a worst-ever Premier League season already guaranteed as Ruben Amorim’s side sit 15th in the division.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 13 | 35 | 12 | 5 | 18 | 51 | 62 | -11 | 41 | |

Due to the performances, United have a new striker on the priority list in order to replace Rasmus Hojlund, who has struggled leading the line this season with just nine goals scored.
While goals have been a big issue for United, so has the other end of the pitch, with Andre Onana having a substantial list of howlers on his record this season. This has cost Amorim a lot of points, which might have seen a much higher league finish.
Having not nailed down his position in the team, Onana is a transfer target for clubs in Saudi Arabia this summer. If he were to be sold, it would leave United needing a replacement, and it could be a former Red Devils prospect who fits the bill.

Manchester United make contact to sign Vanja Milinkovic-Savic
This summer, United will be looking for a new second-choice goalkeeper, with Altay Bayindir expected to leave. However, it could be that United need two shot stoppers if Onana also leaves.
However, financially, the goalkeeper will not be a priority, and therefore, any addition will likely not break the bank and this could make a move for Torino’s Vanja Milinkovic-Savic attractive to Ineos.
Now, it is being reported by Fabrizio Romano that Milinkovic-Savic has been added to the list at United for a new goalkeeper this summer, with initial contacts now made in order to explore the terms of a summer deal.
United have asked for the price tag of the 6ft 8in tall Serbian goalkeeper who is expected to find a new club this summer anyway, having outgrown Torino. Manchester City are one side who are keen on signing Milinkovic-Savic, so there is steep competition to secure his signature.
According to TuttoSport, Milinkovic-Savic would cost just £17m thanks to a release clause in his contract, making him an absolute bargain for a player who would be a substantial upgrade on Onana.
Manchester United signed Vanja Milinkovic-Savic once before
By signing Milinkovic-Savic, it would mean United returning for a player who, unfortunately, failed on his initial move to United back in 2014.
United signed Milinkovic-Savic from FK Vojvodina when he was 17, and was at the time tipped among the best young goalkeepers in the world.
However, his move never got off the ground due to being denied a work permit in 2015, which saw United allow him to depart in December of this year while Louis van Gaal was in charge.
Van Gaal and the club had no real other choice than to let Milinkovic-Savic leave the club, and he has since gone on to become a very talented goalkeeper, which means there is no real shame in re-signing him.
It would allow the Serbian to write the story he never got the chance to.
