Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that one Premier League club is on the verge of bringing Manchester United-linked midfielder Conor Gallagher back to England.
The 25-year-old midfield talent rose through the ranks of the Chelsea youth academy before he left Stamford Bridge and completed his move to Atletico Madrid.
What is YOUR biggest reason to feel positive about Manchester United right now?
Atletico Madrid paid Chelsea a £33m transfer fee to sign Conor Gallagher in 2024 and the midfielder has enjoyed some success in the heart of the Spanish capital.
However, Gallagher has fallen out of favour under Diego Simeone this season and the former Chelsea star has been linked with an exit in the January transfer window.
Gallagher has been on Manchester United’s radar in recent months, while fellow Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Tottenham have also been linked with him.

Gallagher had reportedly been valued at up to £60m in the past, but Ben Jacobs added that the ‘number has dropped slightly’ over the midfielder’s current fee.
According to Jacobs, Atletico want to permanently sell Gallagher and echoed Romano’s sentiments around a loan deal with an obligation to buy for the player.
